PRESENTATIONS AND DEMONSTRATIONS - for organizations, schools groups, and international festivals.
Linda will tailor the presentation to the interests of your group. The focus may be a general introduction to the Japanese tea ritual, hospitality, the Chado philosophy, wabi sabi aesthetics and related crafts, or architecture and gardens (photo gallery below).
The introduction is followed by a narrated demonstration of an authentic tea ceremony. Option: Linda’s trained assistants, dressed in kimono, will also serve a bowl of Japanese matcha tea and a confection to up to 30 guests.
Location: Linda and her trained student assistants will bring her special tea equipment to your location.
Fee: varies based on location and number of guests. Zoom is possible.
Reserve a date: Please schedule one month in advance.
ATTEND A TEA CEREMONY — A Taste of Tea — an Informal tea ceremony (seated on chairs) for groups of up to five friends/family.
Participate in an authentic tea ceremony, after a brief introduction to Chado and the guest role.
Location: either at Linda’s home tea room in central Austin, or Linda will bring her tea equipment to your location.
Fee: varies based on location and number of guests. Zoom is possible.
Reserve a date: There are regularly available times at Linda’s home tea room; other dates are available upon request. Please schedule two weeks in advance for Linda’s tea room or one month in advance for a different location.
